Sabu
Sābu is Lakeland, Florida’s first traditional Japanese ramen shop, founded by Chef Ryan Neal in 2020.
Sābu Brand Identity
Sabū was a full brand refresh focused on evolving the identity into a more elevated and modern look & feel while maintaining a sense of warmth and playfulness. The goal was to create a distinct, flexible visual identity that could grow and evolve naturally alongside Sābu.
The new system brought together typography, color, and a graphic visual language to create a stronger foundation for the brand across every touchpoint.
Simplicity with character
A stripped-down, brutalist visual language mixed with softer, organic forms gives Sabū its own recognizable point of view. Each element was designed to work together as a flexible visual system across the physical space, digital platforms, packaging, and photography.
Shared Vision for Sabū
Working closely with the owners, Ryan Neal and Chris Cleghorn, we evolved Sabū’s identity through a shared vision for its next chapter. Together, we evolved the brand to balance Japanese influence with a modern, elevated, and playful point of view.
